Singer D4vd is accused of fatally stabbing a 14-year-old girl he impregnated, according to evidence presented in a Los Angeles courtroom. The musician, born David Anthony Burke, faces murder and child sexual abuse charges after the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. New details reveal she had an abortion after becoming pregnant at age 13.
Courtroom Revelation: Pregnancy and Abortion
On the fourth day of a preliminary hearing, prosecutors presented text messages showing D4vd apologized to Celeste in January 2024 for “putting her through this.” In the exchange, Celeste replied, “Neither of us are capable of watching and taking care of the baby. it’s for the best no?” She was only 13 at the time. The messages also indicated she later had an abortion, which deeply affected her.

Prosecutors argue that Burke fatally stabbed Celeste in April 2025 to silence her from revealing their sexual relationship, which began when he was 18 and she was 13. His career was rising as a singer, and he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Text Messages Reveal Emotional Toll
In August 2024, Celeste wrote to Burke, “I care abt u i killed my kid [for] you. i don’t like talking about it cause it gets [me really] upset but id do anything to have it back.” These messages were obtained from Burke’s phone and read in court. Celeste’s parents left the room when explicit photos were discussed.
Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman apologized to Celeste’s mother, Mercedes Martinez, saying “It’s too much.” The hearing continues to determine if Burke will stand trial on murder and child sexual abuse charges.
