Honor Magic8 Pro and Magic8: Debut with AI Button and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC 2026

Honor has officially launched the new Magic8 and Magic8 Pro in China, which come with several new upgrades, including a new artificial intelligence button.

Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

Honor Magic8 Pro

The Honor Magic8 Pro offers a triple rear camera with a 200MP telephoto lens that uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor with f/2.6 aperture. It supports 3.7x optical zoom and OIS. There's a 50MP primary camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS. Finally, the camera also features a 50MP ultrawide camera that offers a 122-degree field of view.

On the front, the phone sports a 6.71-inch OLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1256 x 2808 pixels resolution and 6,000 nits peak brightness. Also, 50MP front camera and 3D depth camera for face unlock. Honor has also included an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner.

The Magic8 Pro has a 7,200mAh Si-C battery in China, but the EU version has a smaller 6,270mAh battery. It supports wired charging up to 100W and wireless charging 80W.

The phone runs MagicOS 10 and offers many artificial intelligence features, as well as the Yoyo factor. The included AI button is customizable and lets you access the AI ​​assistant with a long press, as well as perform other actions.

Magic8 Pro offers an IP68/IP69/IP69K rating and comes in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black colors. It has a thickness of 8.4 millimeters and a weight of 213 grams.

The base Magic8 is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and features a smaller 6.58-inch LTPO OLED display with similar features to the Pro version. It also has AI button and Yoyo assistant.

On the back, the phone has a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it has a 50MP camera on the front.

What you don't have is the 3D depth camera for biometrics. Although the phone offers an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

The Honor Magic8 has a 7,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Also available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black.

Both Magic8 series phones are available for pre-order in China, with the first sale scheduled to begin on October 23. The price of the base model starts at CNY 4,499 ($630) for the 12GB/256GB version. The 12GB/512GB version is priced at $4,799 ($670) and the 16GB/512GB version will cost $4,999 ($700). Finally, the 16GB/1TB version can be yours for CNY 5,499 ($770).

Meanwhile, the Magic8 Pro with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs CNY 5,699 ($800). The phone is also available in a 12GB/512GB version that costs CNY 5,999 ($840), a 16GB/512GB version that costs CNY 6,199 ($870), and a 16GB/1TB version that costs CNY 6,699 ($940).

Honor has confirmed that the Magic8 series will be launched in global markets soon.
