Mission 1: These are the new GoPro cameras! 2026

GoPro has announced a new series of cameras, which are expected later this year under the names Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro, and Mission 1 Pro ILS. All three come with one-inch sensors, the all-new GP3 processor and MFT detachable lenses.

The processor enables the new cameras to capture video in 1080P resolution at 960FPS, in 8K resolution at 30 and 60FPS, in 4K resolution at 120FPS open gate, in 4K resolution at 240FPS and many more resolutions.

Inside them is the upgraded NPU with AI capabilities that promises fantastic shots even in very low light, while the new Enduro 2 battery can record video in 1080P (30FPS) for 5 hours continuously, but also 3 hours in 4K 30FPS.

The Mision 1 and Mission 1 Pro cameras come with a fantastic case that can go 20 meters underwater, with an OLED screen, new buttons and a main lens that has a 159-degree field of view. GoPro also promises a very satisfying sound since all cameras have four microphones with 32-bit float recording.

They also support Bluetooth 5.3, HLG HDR, 10-bit color with GP-Log2, Timecode Sync up to 240Mbps bitrate, and support for 50MP photos. The Mission 1 Pro also comes with a version called Grip Edition that includes a metal case for a better grip, but also various other goodies, such as a magnetic base, etc.

At the moment we don't know how much GoPro's Mission 1 series will cost but they are expected to go up on its site for pre-order on May 21st. The official launch of the Mission 1 and Mission 1 Pro is scheduled for May 28, while the Mission 1 Pro ILS will arrive later in the year.

It is worth mentioning that the company also announced a new microphone system that will be supported by Hero Black cameras, as well as smartphones and DSLR cameras.
