Pallet Anti-Splash Panel! 2026

Pallet Anti-Splash Panel, the main reason is to hide the unsightly washing machine hoses and electrical cables. The rear splash guard is made to be removable, so I can stay behind for service.

Step 1: Choosing the pallets

You can find pallets practically anywhere there is a business.

For this project I use various sizes of pallets, mainly three different sides.

Since I planed the pallets on my thickness plan, I separated the pallets by size. You can totally use a hand sander for this process. It just takes a long time.

If you are not sure what to do a thick brush. The thickness brush removes a layer from one side of the wood.

Step 2: Cutting the pallets into strips

As there is no straight side on the pallets. I ran the wood through the table saw to create a straight side.

Now that I have at least one straight side, I can start cutting the strips.

I placed the fence of the table saw 1.5 inches from the blade and began the process. I did this until everything was cut to size.

Step 3: Final version

I cut a small piece of wood from the end to make sure the end was straight.

I put the stop block on the miter saw, so each cut will be identical to 9 inches.

I gave it an extra sanding on the ends to keep the splinters away from the wood.

Step 4: Cutting the rear support

Since my backslash is removable. I used 1/2 inch plywood.

If you want to install this permanently, 1/4 coat will be fine.

In my case, I added an extra piece on the side to push the backing off the wall to clear the hoes of the washer.

Step 5: Fixing the panel to the rear support

To keep this work going, I used hot glue to attach the pallets. Of course, you can use any fixing method you deem necessary.

I wanted a stacked stone look, I have three different sizes as a starting point.

First is 9 inches, second is 6 inches, third is 1 inch. Then repeat the same method every third row.

When I got to the end, I folded the corner to give it a clean, wrapped look.

Step 6: Add the finish

I gave it a quick sand to remove the sharp corners.

I use Danish oil for the splash guard. Just follow the instruction on the container. I applied the Danish Oil with a cloth.

I only applied one coat, but you can apply as many as you want to darken it.

Step 7: Installation

As said before, this screen protector is removable. So I make a simple wooden bracket for one side to lock the rear splash in place.
