Liverpool's £50m bid for Yankuba Minteh has been rejected by Brighton, as the Reds continue their search for wide forwards. The Merseyside club are determined to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline, with multiple targets on their shortlist.
Liverpool's Transfer Pursuit: Minteh and Barcola
Liverpool have identified Yankuba Minteh as a key target to fill the right-sided void left by Mohamed Salah's departure. The 22-year-old Gambian winger has impressed at Brighton, scoring nine goals in 66 Premier League appearances since joining from Newcastle for £30m two years ago. However, Brighton have rebuffed Liverpool's initial offer, with the Seagulls reluctant to lose another key player after Danny Welbeck's move to Chelsea and Kaoru Mitoma's injury.

Liverpool's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola continues, but PSG's £145m valuation has forced the Reds to consider alternatives. Barcola, a France international, remains a top target, but the price tag is steep. Liverpool have also shown interest in PSG's 18-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye, though no formal offer has been made yet.
Minteh's Profile and Injury
Minteh is currently recovering from surgery after suffering a leg injury in a pre-season friendly against Roma. He could be sidelined for another eight weeks, which may complicate any potential transfer. Despite this, the winger is reportedly open to joining Liverpool, and the club are weighing whether to increase their offer.
Alternative Targets and Squad Changes
Liverpool have already added versatile forward Victor Muñoz for £34.5m this summer, but they still need a dedicated right winger. The club's interest in Barcola and Mbaye highlights their desire for young, dynamic options. Meanwhile, Curtis Jones is set to undergo a medical in Italy after Liverpool agreed a £30m deal with Inter for the midfielder, freeing up funds and squad space.
