The Ukraine war has entered a new phase as Ukrainian forces struck two massive Wildberries warehouses in Russia's Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, targeting logistics hubs supplying the Russian military with drone components and equipment. These attacks mark an escalation in Ukraine's deep-strike campaign inside Russia, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirming the strikes aimed at disrupting supply chains for the war effort.
Wildberries Warehouse Attacks: What Happened
On Wednesday, Tatyana Kim, co-founder and head of Wildberries, confirmed that a warehouse in Krasnodar and another in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol, were hit by Ukrainian drones. The Krasnodar warehouse fire killed a young woman and hospitalized three others, according to the regional governor. These incidents follow a pattern of Ukrainian strikes on Russian commercial infrastructure that supports military operations.

The attacks on Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, represent a significant shift. Previously, Ukraine focused on military and energy targets. Now, e-commerce distribution centers are in the crosshairs, highlighting the intertwined nature of civilian logistics and wartime supply chains.
Impact on Russian E-Commerce and Military Supply Lines
Ukraine insists it only hits entities that aid the Russian military. In this case, the warehouses allegedly stored drone parts and other equipment used in the invasion. The strikes have already caused a ripple effect: the Russian e-commerce lobby group Aurek requested the government delay tax payments for half a year for businesses that sustained losses from the attacks.
This is not the first time Wildberries has been targeted. Earlier in 2024, a similar strike burned a different warehouse. The repeated targeting suggests a deliberate strategy to cripple Russia's ability to replenish military stocks through commercial channels.
