Andy Burnham's tea-making method has sparked a national debate, as the Labour leader revealed he puts milk in the cup before the tea bag. This controversial approach, detailed in a recent TikTok video, has divided tea lovers across the UK. In the video, Burnham explained, 'I just have a feeling that it softens the teabag a bit and makes it stronger.' His comments have reignited the age-old argument over the proper way to brew a cuppa.
The Great Tea Debate: Milk First vs. Tea First
For centuries, Britons have debated whether to add milk before or after pouring hot water. Traditionalists argue that adding milk first can scald the milk, altering the flavor, while modernists claim it prevents cracking fine bone china. Burnham's stance has drawn criticism from tea purists, but he remains unapologetic. 'I know that will offend a lot of people, but there’ll be no legislation to ban that,' he said.
