My Brilliant Career: A Proto-Feminist Classic Comes Alive

Miles Franklin's 1901 novel gets a vibrant adaptation on Netflix, starring Philippa Northeast as Sybylla Melvyn. The series captures the tension between societal expectations and personal ambition, making it a must-watch for fans of character-driven stories. With its dusty Australian setting and Bridgerton-like energy, it's both fresh and nostalgic.

Why This Adaptation Stands Out

The performances are stellar, with Northeast bringing effervescence to Sybylla and Christopher Chung adding quiet charisma as her love interest. The show doesn't shy away from the complexities of class and gender, offering a nuanced take on a beloved story.

The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Grylls: Faith Meets Adventure

Bear Grylls takes the cast of The Chosen on outdoor challenges in this Prime Video series. From the Adirondack Forest to the Great Basin Desert, the actors face physical trials that lead to emotional breakthroughs. It's a unique blend of survival skills and heartfelt conversations.

What to Expect

Expect nerve-racking challenges, campfire confessions, and a lot of earnestness. The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the actors' personal journeys, making it compelling even for non-religious viewers.

Mourinho: A Deep Dive Into a Football Legend

Netflix's three-part documentary on José Mourinho arrives just as he takes over at Real Madrid. With full cooperation from Mourinho himself, the series explores his trophy-laden career and the controversies that have defined him. His ambition is laid bare, offering a fascinating portrait of a complex figure.

The Man Behind the Trophies

The documentary doesn't gloss over his flaws, from touchline antics to public spats. It's a balanced look at one of football's most polarizing managers.
