Natalie Tran interview reveals her hilarious and unfiltered thoughts on everything from rice cookers to bird gang wars, plus behind-the-scenes secrets from The Great Australian Bake Off. In this exclusive chat, the beloved comedian and presenter opens up about her quirky habits, her love for cooking gadgets, and the unexpected moments that happen on set.

Natalie Tran on The Great Australian Bake Off: How Much Cake Do Hosts Really Eat?

One of the most burning questions fans have is about the cake consumption during filming. Natalie Tran confirms that hosts are told to leave the cakes alone until judging, but that rule doesn't always hold. "They don't cap how much cake we eat after that," she laughs. The bakers often make little extras, and the hosts swoop in like "trash birds" to grab the cut-offs left on the bench.

It's a playful behind-the-scenes glimpse that shows the fun, chaotic energy of the show. Natalie Tran describes the experience as being "little birds in the wild," always on the lookout for a tasty treat.

Rice Cooker Advocacy: Natalie Tran's Strong Stance

When asked if she still believes it should be illegal to not own a rice cooker, Natalie Tran is emphatic: "Yes, 100%. Jail time. No questions asked." She's shocked by people who make rice in a saucepan, calling it mind-blowing. Her passionate advocacy has even led her to jokingly compile a list of naysayers and "submit it to a court nearby."

Interestingly, the interviewer admits to not owning a rice cooker, which leads to a moment of pained silence. Natalie Tran's advice is clear: "Your life could be so much easier. I don't understand why you live like that." For her, the rice cooker is a non-negotiable kitchen essential.

Why Rice Cookers Are a Must-Have

• Perfectly cooked rice every time without constant monitoring
• Saves time and effort compared to stovetop methods
• Easy to clean and versatile for other dishes
• Prevents the common problem of burnt or sticky rice

Natalie Tran's Bird Encounter: A Cautionary Tale

Natalie Tran also shared a memorable story about a specific bird in her neighbourhood. She witnessed a bird standing on top of a magpie, screaming, with other birds gathered around. Her instinct to intervene—"Oi!"—was quickly followed by regret as she realized the bird might remember her. "It's gonna remember this," she thought, so she pretended to be doing something else, walking past while muttering "Oi, oi, oi" to seem harmless.

This anecdote highlights Natalie Tran's unique perspective on wildlife and her ability to find humour in everyday situations. It's a reminder that even celebrities have quirky fears and awkward moments.
