Richarlison Transfer News: De Zerbi Wants Tottenham Star to Stay 2026

Richarlison transfer news dominates headlines as Roberto De Zerbi wants the Brazilian striker to stay at Tottenham, despite ongoing speculation about his future. The Spurs boss spoke after Richarlison scored a dramatic 92nd-minute winner in a 2-1 pre-season friendly victory over Chelsea in Sydney, where 10-man Tottenham held on after Kevin Danso's red card.

De Zerbi's Stance on Richarlison's Future

Speaking to reporters post-match, De Zerbi admitted the striker's intentions remain unclear. "I don't know, I didn't understand well, because sometimes he said to stay, sometimes he leaves, we have to speak," the Italian coach said. "Anyway, there is not any problem, he's a lovely guy. All of us love him, the teammates, the club, the staff, because he works hard every day."

Richarlison, who joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022, has less than a year left on his contract. Despite inconsistent form, De Zerbi emphasized his importance, noting, "For me he's still an important player because it's not so easy to find another striker [like] Richarlison. He scored 12 goals last season, not for luck, because he feels the way to score."
