Shin Kamen Rider delivers a thrilling, darkly cynical action flick about a grasshopper-human hybrid fighting evil, and it's a must-watch for fans of tokusatsu and Hideaki Anno's unique vision. This 2023 film is the third installment in Anno's Shin trilogy, following Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman, and it reimagines the classic 1971 Kamen Rider series with a modern, gritty edge. The story follows Takeshi Hongo, a young man transformed against his will by the evil organization Shocker into a powerful grasshopper hybrid, who then teams up with a renegade employee to take down his creators.
What Makes Shin Kamen Rider Stand Out?
Hideaki Anno, known for his work on Neon Genesis Evangelion, brings his signature blend of psychological depth and practical effects to this film.
