Spain won the World Cup in dramatic fashion as Ferran Torres scored the only goal in extra time to defeat a 10-man Argentina side in a tense final. The match, held at the New York New Jersey Stadium, saw Spain claim their second World Cup title, adding to their European Championship triumph from two years ago.
How Spain Won the World Cup
The game was a disjointed affair, with Argentina resorting to cynical tactics to disrupt Spain's rhythm. Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández was sent off for a second yellow card just before the end of regulation time, leaving Argentina to play the final minutes and extra time with 10 men. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Argentina held on until the 106th minute when Ferran Torres broke the deadlock.

Rodri was named player of the tournament, receiving his award from Yasir al-Rumayyan, governor of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Lionel Messi was applauded by the entire stadium as he collected his runners-up medal in tears.
