Nintendo Switch 2 Storage Fix: Lexar 512GB MicroSD Express Deal 2026

The Nintendo Switch 2's 256GB internal storage is already proving insufficient for many players, especially with games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth weighing in at nearly 100GB. But a Prime Day deal on the Lexar 512GB MicroSD Express card has dropped its price to €99.99, offering a timely solution.

This is the first time a 512GB MicroSD Express card has fallen below the €100 mark, making it a historic low for this high-speed storage format. The catch? You need an Amazon Prime membership to snag this price, but a 30-day free trial is available for those who want to take advantage.

Why the Nintendo Switch 2 Needs More Storage

The Switch 2's 256GB internal storage fills up quickly with modern AAA titles. Games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth can consume nearly half of that space, leaving little room for other titles. Even if you own physical copies, day-one patches and downloadable content can eat into your storage.

MicroSD Express cards are the only expandable storage option for the Switch 2, as they offer the speed required for seamless gaming. However, these cards have traditionally been expensive, often costing well over €100 for 512GB. This deal changes the equation.

Lexar 512GB MicroSD Express: Performance and Compatibility

The Lexar Play Pro card boasts read speeds up to 900MB/s and write speeds up to 600MB/s, ensuring fast load times and smooth gameplay. It's optimized for gaming consoles and handheld devices, including the Switch 2.

With 512GB of additional storage, you can install dozens of games without worrying about deleting favorites. Combined with the internal storage, you'll have ample space for both original Switch titles and new Switch 2 releases.

• 512GB capacity doubles your storage when combined with the Switch 2's internal memory.
• High-speed performance with up to 900MB/s read and 600MB/s write speeds.
• Prime Day exclusive: €99.99, the lowest price yet for a 512GB MicroSD Express card.
• Prime membership required, but a 30-day free trial is available.
• Optimized for gaming, ensuring compatibility and performance on the Switch 2.

How This Deal Compares to Other Storage Options

When expanding your Switch 2 storage, MicroSD Express is the only viable option due to speed requirements. Here's how the Lexar deal stacks up against typical prices and other capacities:

As the table shows, the Lexar 512GB card at €99.99 is a standout value, especially considering its performance specs. The 256GB SanDisk card is cheaper, but offers half the capacity.

Should You Upgrade Your Switch 2 Storage?

If you frequently purchase digital games or large titles, expanding storage is almost mandatory. The convenience of having multiple games installed without constant deletion is worth the investment, especially at this discounted price.

Even if you prefer physical games, updates and DLC can accumulate. A 512GB card provides peace of mind and future-proofing for years to come.
