However, sometimes, despite having no major issues, people just don’t know how to give or receive affection. If you’re looking for an example, consider the old grumpy dads who say they don’t like cats, but would also pet them when no one’s around.
Deep down they’re soft like everybody else, but just don’t show it. It’s probably because they think showing their humble side would affect their masculinity. A lot of men have adopted this ‘tough’ persona and think that if they show their liking for cute things, it will make them ‘unmanly.’ Or, maybe because they never received affection growing up, so they don’t know how to react to it now. Whatever the case it is, one thing is certain that these dads are kind-hearted regardless of how they try to portray themselves.
