Bridget Phillipson has been appointed Labour party chair by Prime Minister Andy Burnham, putting her at the vanguard of Labour’s battle to win the next general election. This strategic move reshapes the party’s leadership ahead of a critical campaign.
Who Is Bridget Phillipson and Why Was She Chosen?
Bridget Phillipson is a former education secretary who oversaw a landmark overhaul in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision in England. Despite being sacked from that role by Andy Burnham last week, she remains a key figure in the cabinet as women and equalities minister.
