Fox's US World Cup broadcast delivered a mix of wild mispronunciations, memorable moments, and standout analysis from Rebecca Lowe. This summer's coverage on Fox Sports brought together a band of upbeat Brits, grown men in suits and sneakers, and constant cutaways to Gianni Infantino in the stands. The Fox World Cup broadcast was an eight-year sociological experiment, and as it wraps up, we break down the highs and lows.
Key Moments from Fox's World Cup Coverage
The tournament featured a unique blend of humor and insight. Landon Donovan's celebrity sightings, like announcing Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz, became a running joke. Rebecca Lowe's calm “OK, OK” kept the show on track, while the momentum graph flashed only when momentum was obvious. The connected ball technology often failed when needed most, and the “no golden goal” rule reference was outdated by 24 years.

Memorable Personalities and Quirks
Geoff Shreeves chirruped on the sideline like a middle-aged Oliver Twist seeking approval. Tom Rinaldi delivered lyrical meditations on balls and planets. Chef Nick started with extravagant dishes like kangaroo corndogs but had to rein it in for the final four. Jameis Winston, the fan correspondent, brought sweaty, antic dispatches that looked like an electrocuted baptism. These elements made the US World Cup broadcast unforgettable.
