Montolit Squadro Tile Cutting Disc: Precision for Ceramic and Porcelain 2026

The Montolit Squadro tile cutting disc was created to meet specific but very frequent needs. Electrical outlets, switch boxes, and junction boxes in your home require a large number of square holes in ceramic tiles. Compared to the past, the number of these holes has increased dramatically due to the spread of phones, TV antennas, alarm systems, appliances, computers, and more. Moreover, tiles have become increasingly harder, with “difficult” surfaces for executing these cuts perfectly. That’s why the Montolit Squadro disc was born: a small diamond blade (for dry use) that can be mounted on small angle grinders. It has a reduced diameter (85 mm) and can create rectangular holes even of very small dimensions (40x40 mm) on all types of ceramic, porcelain stoneware, marble, and granite.

After testing it, we realized that in addition to making very small square holes, the limited diameter greatly increases the operator’s control over the power tool, allowing extremely firm and sensitive maneuvering, which significantly improves cutting precision. The small diameter makes it possible to be “surgical” even when cutting special pieces, such as those around obstacles, corners, protrusions, and steps. For your next tiling project, make sure you have the right home improvement tools on hand.

How the Montolit Squadro Tile Cutting Disc Works

The disc is suitable for mounting on any small angle grinder with a standard 22 mm diameter attachment. Since it is very thin, you may need to add the supplied brass washer when the grinder’s flange cannot tighten the disc sufficiently.

Marking the hole must be very precise: after accurately determining the position of one of the four corners of the box, transfer it to the tile. Then, using a new box as a guide, trace the outline. For complex cutting tasks, consider upgrading your garden supplies storage or your outdoor patio furniture to create more workspace.
