#1 Tools to repair a sink:

• A pair of pliers
• Screwdriver
• Wool or steel wire brush
• Silicone Spray or WD40
• Mold Cleaner

#2: Remove the sink plug

• First of all, you must remove the plug in order to repair a sink.
• If you can open the plug (that is, you are doing it before it gets stuck as preventative maintenance), you can grab the outside with your fingers or CAREFULLY with pliers and twist it to pop it out.
• If the plug is stuck, close the push down on the top surface while trying to turn counterclockwise, they will usually come apart quite easily, for extra grip try using a rubber glove.

#3: Remove the stem

• Use the pliers to CAREFULLY TURN the stem counterclockwise and remove it, sometimes it will come out in one piece still attached to the plug. This is a BONUS!

#4: Clean

• Clean as thoroughly as possible with wire wool, wire brush, etc.
• I also sprayed with mold, washed everything in very hot water and then sprayed with silicone spray.
• Work the “action” several times (open and close) to make sure it is free to move

#5: Reassemble
