See how you can make a leather wallet easily, which you can do yourself with basic tools.
You can use your imagination to design this wallet to your liking.
#1: Tools

This wallet made of leather that you can produce (by yourself) at home with fairly simple tools and in very little time.
The tools I used can be found in every home:
- Cutting ruler (you can also use a simple ruler)
- Circular blade
- Marking needle
- Hammer
- Tweezers
- Cutter blade
#2: Print

When you have gathered all the tools, you need a template which you can download here as a PDF File. After printing your template on any printer on a sheet of DIN A4 paper.
#3: Cut the template

To cut out the template you can use scissors.
I recommend using a utility knife to straighten the edges of the paper.
The small circles do not need to be cut out.
#4: Draw

Position the template on a piece of leather that you have prepared.
Draw a line around the template
Use a special leather pen or a needle and don't forget to mark the center of each small circle.
I suggest you use a 1.8 – 2mm thick leather that is not too soft so that your wallet has stability and provides you with fun for a long time.
#5: Cut the leather

Now the leather is ready to be cut.
To make a precise cut, use a circular blade. For the inside of the corners, finally use a knife.
Helps you cut exactly in the corner.
#6: Shape

Now you are ready to shape your wallet.
Get a crease and give a few gentle taps with the hammer on the curve without destroying the leather.
Repeat this with the second strip of leather in the same way.
#7: Strengthen

Use the pliers to cut the circles.
The marked center points help you position the tweezers.
The diameter of the hole depends on the rivets you want to use.
#8: Rivet

I prefer double tubular rivets made from old brass.
These rivets go well with leather and have the vintage look. Its dimensions are 6×6 (diameter/length).
Of course, feel free to use other rivets that go better with your leather.
The riveting process is very simple: put the longest part of the double rivet through the hole and insert the second part into the other side.
Working on a hard surface, tap the hammer once or twice on the rivet. Ready!
Tip: First try a piece of leftover leather that you don't need.
#9: Finishing

Finally fold the wallet in the middle and continue making the fold with light hammer blows as described in step #6.
Now you are done.
#10: Final Views

Have fun with your wallet. I would love for you to share some photos of your work. with me.
