Steps on how to make a fish pond in my garden

Step #1

First of all, we mark the position of the pond on the ground with the help of a shovel. When choosing the location of the tank, we must take into account the direction of the wind and avoid placing it under a tree, since its roots could damage the structure and in autumn, the leaves would fall into the pond.

Step #2

The next thing we will do is dig the hole, using a hoe. Taking into account the measurements of the plastic structure, we will leave a margin of about 10 cm in both depth and width.

Step #3

Next, we make a base of sand, approximately 10 centimeters, at the bottom of the hole so that the deposit settles properly.

Step #4

We insert the pond into the hole and check that it is level. If it is not, we remove the structure and spread and compact the sand appropriately.

Step #5

Then, we fill the entire perimeter of the pond with sand and rake it until the surface is completely smooth. We put the pump in the tank and add some pebbles.

Step #6

When we have filled the pond with water, we place natural grass sods around it. The water should not be saline or contain a lot of chlorine.

Step #7

We place the decorative tiles almost all around the pond, connect the pump and finish the work, decorating the pond with some aquatic plants. The latter, in addition to being ornamental, prevent the appearance of algae. We have put papyrus and water lilies.

Step #8

In this simple way, we have placed a small prefabricated pond, considerably improving the appearance of our garden. Furthermore, an environment with water like this invites you to rest and contemplate.
