How to permanently repair holes in the door, accidents at home usually happen due to carelessness, and one of those that has ever occurred is a door with a hole, some of which occurred because something forceful fell on them or because they tried to open it violently when the door jammed.
Now let's see in this tutorial how to repair these holes that are caused by those moments of carelessness.
#1. Cut out and fill the hole
Cut away any loose plywood at the edges of the hole. Use a knife to cut this material, until you are left with a clean hole with smooth edges.

Push 3 or 4 paper towels, until they are inside the hole, set in place and will not slide under the inside of the door.
Gather the paper towels in the hole to support the expanding foam that will be added.
Without the paper towels, the foam would fall to the bottom of the hollow door.

This stuff comes in a large aerosol can with a long plastic applicator tip.
Pour a generous amount into the hole, so the foam expands and fills the hollow space behind the hole.
Let the foam dry.
This will take several hours, so it is best to let it dry overnight.
You can purchase foam insulation at any local hardware or home improvement store.
If the store has a variety of options, purchase a low-expansion type of foam. This will leave you with less cleaning.

#2. Applying Auto Body Resin
Once the foam has dried, it will have expanded significantly and may extend a couple of inches over the surface of the door.
Using your knife, cut away the excess foam until the foam is slightly lower than the surface of the door.

Take out some car filler and place it inside a disposable container or any type of plastic tray. Then squeeze out half of a hardening catalyst.
This material will harden quickly and cover the outside of the door hole.
These are thick, putty-like liquids; use a popsicle stick to stir until the substances are completely mixed.
- Start with about 1 teaspoon (4.9 ml) of the car body filler and half of the catalyst. Mix more as needed.
- Both car putty and hardening catalyst should be available at a large hardware store.

Use a putty knife to scoop up some of the filler mixture and spread it over the dried foam that is filling the hole in your door.
This material will dry and harden quickly, so you will have to work quickly.
- After about 5 minutes, once the putty has started to thicken, take the edge of a putty knife and scrape it in with the putty.
- This will smooth the surface and remove any excess semi-dry filler.
- Wait to continue until the filling has completely dried.

Sand the completely dry filler until it is completely smooth and flush with the surface of the door.
Also sand away any foam or filler material that has stuck to the plywood door material around the edges of the cellar you filled.
- Sandpaper of all grit consistencies will be available at your local hardware store.

#3. Plating and painting the hole
Use a putty knife to apply a layer of spackle over the hole.
Work with long, soft strokes to apply the putty as smoothly as possible.
- Allow the spackle to dry once you have applied it. Give it about an hour. You can find spackle at any hardware or home supply store.

Take a sheet of sandpaper and rub it over the dry spackle until it is completely flat and smooth.
You can also use 100 grit sandpaper for this task.
However, you must use a different blade than the one you used to sand the filler.

Now that the spackle has dried and sanded, you are ready to finish fixing the hole.
Use a large paintbrush to apply a coat of paint over the patched hole.
Work with long, soft strokes to make the layer of paint look as uniform as possible.
Give the paint about an hour to dry, at which point, the hole will set.

Remember that the paint you use should match the color of your door. To find a good match, visit a paint store, take home several samples, and find the color closest to your door.
