Digital art can go two ways.
Either it can end up looking extra realistic or you can make any fantastical creature you want and make it look like the creature might actually exist in the real world. The artist named Dennis Carlsson usually opts for a mix of these two. Honestly, I have seen thousands of art pieces and while every artist brings their own unique spin to their work, Dennis manages to ‘elevate’ our beloved Disney characters in a horrific way.
I know what you are thinking, ‘Haven’t we already seen so many horror-themed re-imaginings? And you’re right about that but at the end of the day, we can never have enough. And Dennis knows this. So they do speedpaints of their work on Youtube and it is fascinating to see. And you can check out some of their most exemplary work curated below.
#1 I might actually like the minions if they looked like this. At least they would have some character.
#2 Mickey Mouse never looked rat-like to me but this is pretty amazing.
#3 I wonder who the ‘Hunny’ of Winnie the pooh is.
#4 This is realistically what patrick would look like if he existed under the sea.
#5 This has taken a whole new meaning of depressing.
#6 Courage the cowardly dog is not going to be scared anymore if he looked like this.
#7 I really hope the leg is not of the person I think it is.

#8 The ham body has really nice grill marks if I say so myself.
#9 The tentacle protruding from the eyeball is the one that unsettles me the most.

#10 Oh no, Hello kitty seems to be melting from ‘old age’.
#11 Not going to lie, the eyes look very cute and adorable.

Dennis has over 100k followers on Instagram but he definitely deserves more. His work is highly detailed and you can see intricacies in every part of his paintings. And while I would love to buy some of his prints on things, his shop is not open yet. However, if you really like his art and want to support them, go on to their instagram and youtube to show your love.
#12 Even Tweety is not sure about what happened to her mouth.
#13 There are going to be some angry birds around because of this monster.

#14 And everyone said he wasn’t scary enough. Who’s laughing now?
#15 Surprisingly enough, SUlly looks less terrifying than the above picture.

#16 Maybe Baby yoda should wear a mask because we don’t want to catch whatever he has.
#17 Are we sure this is pikachu and not mimkyu?

#18 How could they turn Kotoro into this horrifying monster looking thing?

#19 If Shrek existed in real life, this is probably what he would look like.
