Step 3: Install the Snare Wire

Cut the box support and sand lightly.

Time to install Snare Wire for the Cajón! Cut it perfectly in half so you have two identical pieces, then screw them to the support beam. Try to make sure the ends are perfectly aligned. Pre-drilled holes in the frame where you want to install it. The holes were drilled 8.5″ from the top and 2″ from the front. Lastly, drill the bracket, tilt it forward so the ends of the box stick out of the front about 1″.

Step 4: Drill the front and back!

Drill holes in the lid and back. I then glued and screwed both the front and back.

Step 5: Final sanding

I also sanded the skisso they don't hit your legs when you sit on them.

Step 6: Shine for your drawer

Use four coats of polyurethane gloss for finishing.

Step 7: You're done!
