National party Senate leader Bridget McKenzie has declared that conservatives are in a war against leftwing globalists, mass immigration, and woke institutions during her speech at the inaugural CPAC GB in London. Speaking before a panel chaired by former British prime minister Liz Truss, McKenzie urged rightwing movements across the English-speaking world to unite and fight back against what she described as a coordinated effort to undermine British heritage.
McKenzie’s Key Arguments at CPAC London
McKenzie focused heavily on Australia’s immigration program, criticizing the Labor government for overseeing what she called an excessive number of arrivals. She argued that Australia should be more selective about who is allowed to settle, emphasizing values over race. “If you believe sharia laws are superior to the laws that my great country inherited from yours, then I’m afraid Australia is not the place for you,” she stated.

Immigration Statistics and Comparison
The federal Labor government has kept Australia’s permanent migration level steady at 185,000 arrivals this year. Net overseas migration fell to 306,000 people in 2024–25, down from 429,000 a year earlier, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data. Below is a comparison of recent migration trends:
| Year | Net Overseas Migration |
|---|---|
| 2023–24 | 429,000 |
| 2024–25 | 306,000 |
Broader Ideological Struggle
McKenzie framed many issues facing Australia and Britain as part of a broader ideological struggle, claiming there was a global effort “to undermine the very best of our British heritage by leftwing globalists.” She described these globalists as well-funded, disciplined, and relentless, urging conservatives to adopt a similar approach.
Key Takeaways from McKenzie’s Speech
- Conservatives must unite across the English-speaking world to counter leftwing globalism.
- Australia should prioritize values-based immigration over race-based selection.
- Mass immigration under Labor threatens Australian heritage and security.
- Woke institutions are part of a coordinated attack on conservative values.
