Movistar Plus New True Crime and Oscar-Winning Film to Stream 2026

Movistar Plus has just added a new true crime series from Carles Porta and an Oscar-winning film to its streaming lineup, giving subscribers fresh content to enjoy this summer. The new true crime, titled 'El plan de las gemelas', is available now, while the Oscar-winning movie, 'Una batalla tras...' (likely 'A Battle After...'), also joins the platform. This comes as Movistar Plus introduces its new Plan Libre, a budget-friendly option for non-sports fans.

What's New on Movistar Plus: True Crime and Oscar Winner

Carles Porta, known for his gripping true crime documentaries, returns with 'El plan de las gemelas'. The series promises to be as compelling as his previous hit, 'Peregrina', which is also available on the platform. Porta's other works are also streaming, making it a must-visit for true crime enthusiasts.

The Oscar-winning film, referred to as 'Una batalla tras...', has been a critical success, winning multiple Academy Awards. While the full title isn't specified, it's likely a major draw for movie lovers. Both titles are included in the Movistar Plus catalog, accessible via the new Plan Libre.

Movistar Plus Plan Libre: A Budget-Friendly Streaming Option

Launched a few weeks ago, the Plan Libre is priced at just €4.99 per month, making it an attractive choice for those who don't watch sports. The only difference from the other plan (€9.99/month) is the absence of sports channels. Otherwise, it offers the same features: no commitment, available to anyone regardless of their internet provider, and the ability to share the account with a friend or family member.

This plan is ideal for summer viewing when you're indoors avoiding the heat or looking for entertainment during downtime. With a mix of true crime and award-winning films, there's something for everyone.

Why This Matters for Streamers

Movistar Plus is clearly targeting a broader audience with this move. By adding high-quality true crime and Oscar-winning content, they appeal to viewers who might not be interested in sports. The Plan Libre's low price point also makes it competitive in the crowded streaming market.

For Carles Porta fans, this is a treat, as his storytelling style has garnered a dedicated following. The addition of an Oscar-winning film adds prestige to the platform's library, attracting cinephiles.
