Nintendo Switch 2 MicroSD Express Price Drop: SanDisk 256GB Now €49.90 2026

The official SanDisk 256GB MicroSD Express card for the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally dropped in price, now available for €49.90 (down from €59.99) on Amazon and other retailers. This is welcome news for Switch 2 owners who need more storage, especially since standard microSD cards from the original Switch are not compatible with the new console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 requires MicroSD Express cards due to their faster read speeds, which are necessary for running games smoothly. Without one, you'll be stuck juggling installations or deleting games frequently. This price drop makes it a great time to upgrade your storage.

Why MicroSD Express Cards Are Essential for Nintendo Switch 2

The Switch 2's architecture demands faster storage than its predecessor. MicroSD Express cards offer significantly higher transfer speeds, ensuring games load quickly and run without hiccups. Standard microSD cards simply can't keep up, which is why they're not supported.

With the console's base 256GB storage, you might find yourself running out of space after just a few major game installations. Adding a 256GB card doubles your capacity, giving you room for more games and save data.

Key Benefits of the SanDisk 256GB MicroSD Express

• Doubles storage: Adds 256GB to the Switch 2's internal 256GB, totaling 512GB.
• Faster load times: Express technology ensures quick game loading and smooth performance.
• Official compatibility: Designed specifically for the Switch 2, guaranteeing seamless integration.
• Reliable brand: SanDisk is a trusted name in flash storage, offering durability and performance.
• Great value: At €49.90, it's a cost-effective way to expand your gaming library.
