MATERIALS
- Fabric of our choice
- Sewing machine
- Needle nose pliers
- Stapler
- Rope
- Foam or wadding
Procedure
Step 1: Remove the fabric
We begin the operation by removing the nails that hold the old fabric.
We must try to remove the old fabric without tearing it because this way we can use it as a pattern to cut the new upholstery fabric.

Step 2: New filling
Now we remove the filling, which will also be fixed by nails or staples. We will check the wooden structure to ensure its good condition or repair what is necessary.
Now we nail the new filling with the stapler. It is a simple operation that does not require great care.

Step 3: Cut fabric
With the old fabric used as a pattern we will cut the new pieces with the fabric that we have chosen to recover our chair.
We will always leave about 5 cm of margin when cutting the fabric, this way we will avoid disappointment.

Step 5: Add edging
We place the piece of fabric for the seat and stretch it well, we will staple to fix the fabric well and there are no wrinkles.
To reproduce old decorative pieces like this round trim we will take your measurements.

Step 6: Cut fabric
And we will reproduce them with the new fabric.
We will pass the rope through the inside of the fabric and we will have the edging ready.
Which we will arrange in place and staple with our tool.

Step 7: Secure with Staples
We will finish the seat area and thus we will have an important part of the work done.
We will trim the excess fabric after making sure they are stapled. We will continue with the backrest and working in the same way as in the seat area.
We can add a tape so that the fabric is better fixed with the staples.

Step 8: Add black fabric
On the sides to prevent the staples from being seen, we can use fabric adhesive that will allow us to better hide the folds.
Finally we add the black fabric to cover the bottom, the chair will always look better with this perfect finish, and we now have the upholstered chair.

A piece of furniture of this style is a good way to get started in upholstering, a task with a certain complexity but that with a little practice we can easily master.
