See how you can make an incredible Shishi-odoshi fountain with PVC pipes in an easy and practical way with us.
I never thought that these discarded PVC materials will produce an ideal waterfall fountain.
The materials needed for this masterpiece are:
- PVC pipe
- Foam board
- PVC casing
- Plastic tray
- Aquarium tube
- 3W submersible pump
- Spray paint
- Drill
- Hot glue
- Artificial plants
- Stones

Steps to make a Shishi-odoshi fountain with PVC pipes
#1: The Base With Support
- Make the structure on a base for water storage with support. For me, the plastic tray was the best option for this.
- Place the PVC on both sides of the tray, please refer to the pictures.
- Place the PVC cover on the PVC pipes as shown in the pictures.
#2: The small water tank
- Now I need a water chamber where the water will spread from, so I took a 5 inch PVC.
- Make a hole in the PVC and connect 2 small PVC pipes. See the images
- A foam board needs to be joined and glued.
- Drill another hole and connect an L-joint with it.
- Then place it in the center of the first case.
- Take an aquarium tube and connect it with the L-joint of the water chamber.
#3: PVC pipes
- Connect a 3W submersible pump with the tube.
- Cut 5 pieces of PVC pipes and make a slanted shape refer to the images
- Color them with spray paint. (Optional)
- Then put the PVC PCs into the cases as shown in the pictures.
#4: The manufacturing of ODC
- Now take a small PVC pipe
- Make a small hole in the middle of the tube and shape it with the drill.
- I have this plastic bracket to hold the pipe.
- Our shishi-odoshi is now ready.
- Now place it on the tray.
#5: The final decoration
