How much does this lamp weight?

Only around 2-3 lbs. Very light and easy to maneuver. Plus, it mounts to the desk or table very securely.

where are the controls?

They are on the power wire, about 8" from the lamp arm base. ON/OFF, color, and brightness Up/Down actually fairly easy to use overall after you get used to them, Took me about a minute to get it down! Nice soft lighr with almost no harsh shadows.

how tall is this up all the way not counting the light?

Can u remove the clamp and put the base in a hole

Yes. The lamp just slips into a hole in the clamp base. So you could put it into a hole with the same diameter.
