How to Build a Small Cabin on a Budget, building a cabin yourself is much cheaper than purchasing a prefabricated storage shed.
The cost of materials for this construction. I know for a fact, I decided that if I wanted to add a cabin to my property, I had to build it myself.
Step 1. Floor layout

The outline or layout of the floor is shown in the image. The schematic shows the location of the 4×4 boards and floor joists.
Step 2. Drill and plant the posts in the base

Use the tractor and post hole digger to make the base for the posts. Plant the posts together with 2x10 bottom stringers. Then attach the top post and top rail.
The top post uses a 2x10x12 board while the top stringer is 2x10x16. Nail them all at 7 feet 8″ high.
Step 3. Install the board for the center beam

The center beam for this project is approximately 6 feet.
The joist should be 30″ across the top of the board as the roof will have a 5/12 pitch.
Step 4. Build the proper angles for the top and bottom of the beams

Use a carpentry square and place the pivot point at the top of the board and slide the square up to the 5 on the upward “TOP CUT” line off the board. Mark the line as for the angle.
After cutting the first angle, measure the length of the beam from the nose cut to obtain the seat cut measurement.
Mark the seat cut and place the pivot point on this mark and do the same step to get a 5/12 angle. From that angle, measure to 2 ½” and create the line.
Step 5. Build the beams

Install the ceiling joists. Then, after the rafters are already done, install the purlins on top of the rafters, just like the roof does.
The metal roof will be screwed onto these purlins later. All pleat tails are cut to 9″ lengths.
The steel ceiling will be hung at 2″ for the dash plate supports. Then after the roof frame is ready, install the roof.
Step 6. Add a 4-foot porch

Step 7. Side wall design

Step 8. Secure the outer beam at the poles

To secure the joint between the outside joist and the 4x4 posts, screw with 3 3/8 lag bolts.
Step 9. Install the hurricane bolts

Prepare 20 pieces of 13″ hurricane studs that have already been cut at a 5/12 rake angle. Then install the bolts.
Step 10. Install the floor joists, insulation board and floor

First, install the floor joists. Next, install the furring strips inside the floor joist with 1″ below the top of the joists.
Then, after installing the insulation board between each joist, glue them all together and nail the flooring over them.
Step 11. Install the siding walls

Cut the side boards to 8 feet long. Install the side boards on the wall.
Next, attach the soffit and fascia boards to the side panels.
Step 12. Porch roof

Use the stud bolt for the cabin porch roof.
Posts are 16″ centers and 4 feet long.
Step 13. Door frame and front wall

Place on the door frame and front wall, as shown in the picture.
Step 14. Gable Ends

The gable ends are installed with the batten strip attachment. Add two vents.
Step 15. The final appearance of the cabin
