Transform an old wooden barrel into a rack for wines and glasses, these materials are also used in the DIY world to make incredible things. You can find these barrels at reasonable prices at garage sales, as well as in many other places.

For this project, only a single barrel was used in which we are going to transform it into something useful for your home.

#1 We start by labeling the staves and hoops.

#2 Next, he dismantled the barrel by removing the hoops with a chisel and wooden hammer.

#3 The wood needs a new look, so add a new layer of varnish.

#4 Once the paint dries, we put the barrel back together.

#5 A portion of the barrel was cut away, where the wine rack would eventually be installed.

#6 Next, a stemware rack was added with leftover wood and a mini wine rack that I had found at a thrift store, as well as some LED lights were installed to give it a more modern, yet rustic look.
