The “Holiday in Sicily for 1 euro” promotion is open to both Italians and international visitors, including Brits and travelers from non-EU countries, according to The i Paper. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and pay a symbolic contribution of one euro. In order to have a chance at the affordable weekend trip, interested parties must submit a video in which they explain their reasons for visiting Siculiana and what they would like to learn about the city and its culture. At the end of the weekend, participants have to create another video in which they share their experiences.

The catch – travel is not included
In addition to the obligation to give up all rights to the application video and to the video material created afterwards in which the experiences are described, there is another catch. The winners receive two overnight stays, breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as guided tours. However, the journey must be financed yourself. Since the vacation will take place relatively soon, this could sometimes be expensive as you can no longer book the flights far in advance.
When should the vacation in Siculiana take place?
The application deadline ends on March 15, 2025 and a total of 10 couples or families will be selected, which will be announced by March 20 at the latest. The first 1 euro holiday will take place from April 4th to 6th. The mayor of Siculiana, Giuseppe Zambito, told “The i Paper” that he would like to encourage people to “discover the beauties of our unique city, which, in addition to its architecture and cuisine, has many treasures worth seeing.”
