Where to eat in Cudillero
To start you off, here we tell you which typical Asturian dishes are a must-eat .
* We try to keep articles up to date, but we may miss something. If you find restaurants on this list that are closed or have different prices, please let us know so we can update it.
1. Casa Mari -Cider House-
It is one of the safe bets for eating well in Cudillero. If you travel in summer, it is best to book or arrive early, but if you have to wait... it is worth it. The ideal is to share a couple of dishes, as you know that the portions in Asturias are very generous. Recommended is the Asturian fabada or beans with clams €18, cachopo with ham and cheese €35, or black rice.

2. El Remo Cider House
This is another of Cudillero's legendary establishments, where you can eat wonderfully and at a good price. We recommend sharing some scallops and a cachopo , which costs around €21 and is filled with cecina, Vidiago cheese, peppers and asparagus (as you can see, quite filling). To finish off the meal, there's nothing better than their cheese flan . Average price per person: €15-20.
3. Bar Restaurant Casa Julio
In the central Plaza de la Marina in Cudillero this terrace stands out, and is perfect for sitting and having a cider or a beer with something to snack on , such as chorizos in cider (€8), fried squid (€9) or fried pixin (€20), for example.
4. La Casina Bar Restaurant
On a somewhat quieter street, you will find this bar-restaurant with a terrace and dining room. The menu is quite extensive but our advice is to order a couple of portions to share. They have Galician-style octopus, baby squid, croquettes, cheese and sausage boards… In short, there is something for everyone. Average price per person: 15-20€.
5. Raysa Confectionery
Founded in 1970, this confectionery is the perfect final stop : here they prepare some delicious typical desserts from the area. Try the avellanitos , a pastry made with hazelnuts and honey, or the suspiros , a “cookies” made with butter and sugar. They cost €1.
Bonus: The Rosebush
If you want to fill up your boots and enjoy a homemade daily menu at a good price , coming to El Rosal is a great idea. It includes a starter, a main course, a drink, a homemade dessert and coffee. The starters are especially delicious: the fabada and the Asturian stew are some of the house specialties.
We are including this restaurant as an extra because it is technically NOT in Cudillero… but we assume that you will arrive to the town by car, so on the way back, you can stop here. It is in San Martín de Luiña , about 8 km from Cudillero and yes, it is very much worth it.
We hope that these recommendations of restaurants where you can eat well and cheaply in Cudillero will help you find the best place to fill your boots, and discover the tastiest side of this beautiful Asturian town. Do you know of any other unmissable gastronomic stops?
