Approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters each year in the United States. Those small helpless individuals frequently went without the love, attention, and caring they needed, and many of them never knew what it was like to be happy. They arrive at shelters suffering from dread, worry, and extreme loneliness while their stories are unknown. Adopting such a creature is, in the truest sense, giving it the second shot in life that we all deserve.
So, in honour of all those inspirational adoption success stories, we’ve chosen some of the most moving dog adoption before and after photos from the r/BeforeNAfterAdoption forum. “This is a place to share the amazing difference a loving family can make on an abandoned or mistreated animal,” as per the group description.
