Lenovo Legion Go S Hits Lowest Price With 1TB Storage and SteamOS 2026

The Lenovo Legion Go S has dropped to its lowest price yet, hitting €799 at El Corte Inglés, PcComponentes, and MediaMarkt. This discount of €100 makes it a compelling alternative to the Steam Deck, especially for gamers who want more power and storage.

With a Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, the Legion Go S offers superior performance and capacity compared to Valve's handheld. Plus, it runs SteamOS, the same operating system that made the Steam Deck so popular.

Why the Lenovo Legion Go S Stands Out

The Lenovo Legion Go S is not just another handheld gaming PC; it's a direct competitor to the Steam Deck with some key advantages. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor delivers better performance, particularly in demanding games where every frame counts.

Additionally, the 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD ensure you can store a large library of games without worrying about running out of space or experiencing slowdowns. This configuration is ideal for gamers who want a device that can handle both current and future titles.

SteamOS: The Secret Weapon

Unlike some other Windows-based handhelds, the Legion Go S comes with SteamOS, a Linux-based operating system that is both intuitive and lightweight. This means the hardware can focus on running games rather than managing a heavy OS, often resulting in smoother performance.

SteamOS also offers a console-like experience, making it easy to pick up and play. The interface is designed for controllers, and features like quick resume and cloud saves work seamlessly.

Lenovo Legion Go S vs. Steam Deck: Key Specs Compared

To understand the value proposition, here's a side-by-side comparison of the Legion Go S and the Steam Deck.

As the table shows, the Legion Go S offers double the RAM and more storage than the top-tier Steam Deck, all while running the same operating system. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme is also a more powerful chip, based on newer architecture.

What This Means for Buyers

The price drop makes the Legion Go S an even more attractive option, especially considering the Steam Deck's current availability issues and price increases. For €799, you get a high-end handheld with ample storage and memory that should last for years.

However, it's worth noting that the Legion Go S is larger and heavier than the Steam Deck, which might be a consideration for portable use. But for those who prioritize performance and storage, it's a worthy trade-off. The background to this story is set out in Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gaming Laptop: RTX 5070, 32GB RAM, OLED Deal.
