Donald Trump's announcement of a Hamas disarmament deal in Gaza marks a potential turning point in the stalled ceasefire. The plan, which includes Israeli withdrawal and a transfer of power, has yet to be officially accepted by Israel, raising questions about its viability.
Key Elements of the Proposed Disarmament Roadmap
The 14-point plan, brokered by the Board of Peace (BoP), outlines a phased approach to ending the conflict. It calls for a complete halt to military operations, the establishment of an international verification committee (IVC), and the creation of a Palestinian interim administration.

Under the roadmap, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) would assume control, backed by a new police force and an international stabilisation force (ISF). Heavy weapons, military production sites, depots, and tunnels would be decommissioned and stored.
Israel's Skepticism and Unanswered Questions
Despite Trump's optimistic tone, Israeli officials have voiced skepticism, pointing to Hamas's historical failure to disarm. The lack of an official Israeli response suggests significant hurdles remain, including trust and verification mechanisms.

| Hamas disarmament | Agreed by Hamas (per Trump) |
