The Greek police state in new clarifications what applies to the expiration date of identity cards issued until 6/27/2025.
With the launch of the "myInfo" platform (03/06/2025), the mandatory integration process of the P.A. in the identity cards of Greek citizens, with the aim of providing e-government services and facilitating the transactions of the State with the citizens.
For the integration of the P.A. on the identity card, the citizen should have taken the necessary steps to issue it via "myInfo" before going to the competent police service to submit a request for the issuance of an identity card.
The competent Services of EL.AS. ex officio obtain the information about the P.A. of the identity card applicant, from the P.A. Registry. maintained by the G.G.P.S.P.S.D.. It is not required to present additional supporting documents for the registration of the P.A. on the identity card.
- For those citizens who have been granted a P.A., an identity card is issued with the number embedded.
- For those citizens who are not eligible for P.A. or their registration as natural persons in the P.A. Register is not found. an identity card is issued without it.
- For those citizens who are beneficiaries of P.A. but the issuance process has not been completed, the corresponding identity cards with a date of issuance from 06/03/2025 to 06/27/2025 may not include him.
From 06/28/2025 onwards, an identity card will not be issued to a citizen who, although entitled to a P.A. he has not taken the necessary actions for his extradition or has initiated the procedure without it being completed through his fault. As soon as the citizen takes the necessary steps to issue a P.A. an identity card can be issued.
From the above rule, the cases of citizens who have taken the necessary actions to issue a P.A., but the procedure was not completed through no fault of theirs, are excluded.

- Format identity cards (ID1) with a date of issue up to 27/06/2025, which do not include the PA, are valid until their replacement or until their expiry date, pursuant to n.11A§4 of Law 4727/2020 (A΄ 184).
