Australia is facing a critical debate over datacentre moratorium calls, as environmental groups urge a pause on new developments. The push comes after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised greater clarity and speed in approvals, but faces opposition from big tech and even global figures like Donald Trump, who criticized New York's similar pause. Meanwhile, almost 145,000 people with autism are expected to be removed from the NDIS under government reforms, sparking widespread concern.

This mirrors international tensions, as Trump lashed out at New York's governor for imposing a similar pause. The Australian government's plan to streamline approvals is admirable but faces headwinds from powerful tech companies seeking rapid expansion.
