Canada Wins Gymnastics Gold at Commonwealth Games 2026 – Full... 2026

The Commonwealth Games 2026 gymnastics team final delivered high drama as Canada claimed the gold medal, holding off a strong challenge from England and Australia. The event, held in Glasgow, saw Canada finish with 241.400 points, just ahead of England's 238.250, while Australia took bronze with 235.640. The highlight—and the heartbreak—came when England's Gabriel Langton suffered a terrible fall on the high bar, leaving the arena for medical attention.

Gymnastics Team Final: Canada's Golden Moment

Canada's victory was sealed by a brilliant floor routine from William Emard, lifting the team above England into first place. Scotland's Connor Sullivan could not quite overtake Australia for bronze, leaving the home crowd disappointed. For defending champions England, the silver medal was bittersweet, with thoughts turning to Langton's wellbeing.

Key Performances in the Gymnastics Final

The men's team final featured six apparatus: floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. Canada showed consistency across all events, while England's strong start on the high bar was undone by Langton's fall. Australia's team depth secured them the bronze despite a shaky vault rotation.

Swimming 4x100m Freestyle Relays: Australia Dominates

The pool was equally thrilling as Australia completed a double in the 4x100m freestyle relays. The men's team set a Games record of 3:09.49, with Kyle Chalmers anchoring in 46.93 seconds. England took silver, while South Africa's Chad Le Clos powered to bronze. In the women's event, Mollie O'Callaghan brought the relay home for Australia (3:31.40), ahead of England and South Africa.

Relay Standings at a Glance

Both relays showcased the depth of Australian swimming. Scotland's Katie Shanahan pushed South Africa's Olivia Nel hard but fell short of a medal. Flynn Southam lit up the men's relay with a stunning first leg of 47.09 seconds.
