Sydney Swans Sexual Assault Investigation: Coach's Disappointment 2026

The Sydney Swans sexual assault investigation has taken a new turn as coach Dean Cox expressed his extreme disappointment over the alleged incident involving players. Victoria police confirmed on Tuesday that detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad are investigating a report of a sexual assault at the Pullman Hotel in East Melbourne on 17 August, with no arrests or formal interviews yet.

Allegations and Police Statement

According to a police statement, the incident occurred at a hotel on Wellington Parade in the early hours of Monday morning. The exact circumstances are yet to be established, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police spoke to a number of people at the hotel, but no one has been arrested or formally interviewed at this time.

Swans players Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, James Jordon, and Riley Bice were reportedly questioned by detectives, though there is no confirmation they were directly involved.
