The Cricket World Cup 2027 is set for a major shake-up with a new 14-team format that could feature two blockbuster India vs Pakistan matches. Announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament will take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia starting October 4, 2027.
New Format Breakdown
The expanded Cricket World Cup 2027 begins with the three lowest-ranked teams competing in a Super Series. Only one advances to the main event, where two groups of six teams battle. The top three from each group, plus the next best side, move to a single Super 7 phase that determines the four semi-finalists.
