Designing What You Can't See: The Key to a Perfect Home 2026

The endless variety of proposals with different functions and aesthetics that construction companies churn out for the home each year is even more linked, compared to the past, to the design of systems – the complex network we don't see that winds with corrugated pipes and various tubes through walls and floors. Whether you're planning a full renovation or just a refresh, having the right home improvement tools and supplies on hand makes all the difference.

Kitchen Planning: Where Hidden Systems Matter Most

In kitchen design (dossier from page 28), we see how today's needs have changed and increased: how many electrical connection points are needed, where the water supply and drainage must reach. Just think of island kitchens with sinks and cooktops, or refrigerators that produce ice, water purifiers that must be connected to the water supply and powered by an electrical outlet, and new extraction hoods with or without ducting that must be increasingly efficient because the kitchen is often in the living area. For your own kitchen project, explore our range of kitchen islands and carts and dining tables to complement your layout.

Bathroom Evolution: Luxury Meets Complex Installation

The bathroom is also the room that has undergone the most profound changes over the years, because it has become a place to relax, enjoy a nice bath with or without a whirlpool, perhaps watching TV, a shower with chromotherapy or a steam bath. And then there are wall-mounted faucets, countertop faucets, high-neck and low-neck faucets that require more complex installations than traditional ones to be mounted directly on the sink. It's great to be able to choose from all this offering, but you must keep in mind that without careful planning, you risk having to break through the masonry, perhaps just finished. To get it right, browse our selection of bathroom vanities and mirrors that suit your style.

Microliving: Maximum Simplification for Small Spaces

I also want to point out a particularly interesting feature: microliving, synonymous with “maximum simplification,” the housing evolution of the old studio apartment concept, which with its solutions can transform small spaces into a welcoming home, equipped with everything you need and designed for the new way of living. From page 82, two examples built in Milan with all the good taste that distinguishes our country… nothing to do with the mini-apartments of Tokyo! For compact living, consider our sofas, storage benches, and desks and work surfaces to maximize every square foot.

Outdoor Living: A Room with a View

Just as important as indoor systems is the design of your outdoor spaces. A pergola isn't just a structure – it's an extra room! Complete your outdoor oasis with outdoor patio furniture, pergolas, and gazebos. Add warmth with outdoor heating and set the mood with outdoor lighting. Don't forget BBQ grills and outdoor cooking supplies for unforgettable gatherings.
