Children's Clothes Drying Rack, if you are looking for an efficient way to organize your children's clothes, then this children's clothes drying rack is perfect for you.
In this article we will show you something incredible that you can do yourself in the comfort of your home.
In this video I show how I made this Children's Clothing Rack.
For this project you will need:
- Wood
- Spray paint
- Spray paint
- Painter's tape
- Masking tape
Steps to make a clothesline for children:
#1: Measurements

- I wanted to use some of the wood I already had in the workshop. I cut 2 pieces up to 120 cm.
- You can make this as high as you want, but I wanted it to be useful for us adults, and when my daughter gets a little older, she will still be able to reach it.
- I took this to the miter saw and cut it to size.
#2: Crop

- The wood was a little too thick for this build, it really doesn't have to be that strong, so I took it to the band saw and took it out in half.
- I did this for most of the wood in this project. It would have been much easier if I bought wood that was already a little thinner.
- Then I cut another piece that was going to make the width of the clothes rail. I just guessed roughly how wide I wanted this, and went with 80cm.
- Then cut more pieces to 30cm wide, these are for the bottom slats.
- The band saw left some rough marks and overall I wanted to smooth everything out a little more, so I sanded all the wood down to 220 grit.
#3: Think before you cut

- Already into the project I realized that I really should have thought a little more about the order in which I was doing it. Now I needed to drill the hole for the rail, so I joined the two pieces together.
- If I had done this first, there would be no need to tighten and I would have gotten a slightly cleaner hole, but it worked out fine in the end.
- I was using a 22mm wooden dowel for the rail, so I grabbed a 22mm drill bit and drilled a hole in both sets of legs.
- Next, I cut the dowel for the rail using the miter saw again.
- I left this 10cm long at each end, this would give us a little extra hanging space and I think it looks great.
#4: Paint

- I used some masking tape and masked off an area about 60cm from the bottom. Then I used some white spray paint and painted the bottom half white.
- I left the bottom slats for this bit so that they contrast with the white color.
- I ended up needing 2 coats of paint, but I still wanted to be able to see the wood grain underneath.
#5: Screw

- I used a countersink bit and drilled and screwed all the slats and side support pieces. I also added a couple of screws to the apex of the legs to add a little more support. Then I slid on the banister. You can glue this in place if you want, but I left it loose so I can take it apart easily.
- It's strong enough for all clothes, but maybe not a child to swing on it!
#6: Final images

That's all. It was a nice and easy project, took less than a day to complete, and would have been quicker if I hadn't been filming, and wasn't making up the design as I went along.
If you'd like some plans for this, let me know, I'm happy to try to make some.
