- 1 and 4 inch diameter PVC pipe
- A 4-inch flat PVC cap
- Pipe fittings to reduce diameter from 4 inches to 1 inch, a 1 inch tee connection PVC solvent
- Half sheet of ½ inch plywood and 6 inch stamped metal turntable. The final ingredient is an extension cord
Step 2 instructions
Prepare the bottom:
- Cut a piece of plywood to fit the square top plate of the turntable.
- Using machine screws, attach the plywood to the holes in the turntable.
- Center the PVC end cap on the wood plate and secure with wood screws.
- Center the turntable end cap assembly on the bottom of the bucket and secure with ¼-inch machine screws, washers, and nuts.
- Place an 18 x 18-and-a-half-inch square of plywood under the bottom of the bucket with ¼-inch nuts and machine screws
Step 3 instructions
Construction and cement:
- Cut a 2-inch-wide slot in the side of the hub with a saber saw.
- To prevent cord abrasion, line the slot with 1-inch-diameter miter pieces, slotted lengthwise with a ½-inch-deep slot.
- Attach to bucket with 10 #4 machine screws, nuts, and washers.
- Cut a tu4-inch diameter PVC bo.
- Use a 4 to 2 inch bushing to reduce the PVC pipe and then reduce further with a 2 to 1 inch reducing fitting.
- Make a handle from two 1-inch long PVC pipes and a 1-inch T fitting.
- Test the assembly to make sure it turns easily. Cement the PVC and let it cure overnight.
Step 4 instructions
Coil the cable:
- Finally, pass the male end of the cable through the slot in the bucket. Leave about 3 feet of slack to reach an exit, and tie the cord around the handle.
- Stand on the plywood base and turn the handles to wrap the remaining cord around the center pipe.
- To uncoil the cable, stand on the plywood base and pull the female end out of the slot.
