I completely understand having a conservative family and not wanting to cause problems at your wedding. However, the fiance must understand that this is not a one-day event. What about all subsequent interactions? Is it expected that everyone will lie? And wouldn’t the son be forced to conceal his identity from half of his family? I’m not sure about you, but that doesn’t seem like a feasible way to live a simple life.

So, while I’m hesitant to say he should call off the wedding because OP loves his wife, his son should be his top priority. And, given the difficulties that people in the LGBTQ+ community already face, this type of behaviour will only aggravate his son’s situation.
