You have to be open when it comes to your partner.

As I always say, the most important part of a relationship is communication. I know that this sounds very simple but you would be surprised to know how many relationships fail because people fail to communicate their needs and wants sufficiently. A lot of the problems a person can have in any sort of relationship can be solved if they simply talk to their partner but people refuse to do that.

They think that if they stay quiet, they can change their partner’s mind in the future. Not only is this manipulative but also not fair to your partner. And that is exactly what is happening in this particular story. This woman was always clear when she spoke about her love for cats and she said it right from the start. Now the guy seemed fine with the idea of having a cat at first but he changed his tune as time went on.

The title sounds quite simple but the story is more complicated than it seems.

She is clear right from the start when it comes to her love for cats.

She has always had cats and she can’t imagine her life without one.

But when her cat passed away, her Fiance made some comments that were less than nice.

However, now she wants another cat but her Fiance isn’t having any of it and this has raised some questions for her.

And that is why she ended up on Reddit asking people for some advice.

I don’t usually like to jump to conclusions when it comes to a person’s story on Reddit as we never know what is happening behind the curtains but this sounds like manipulation to me. I mean she ended up accepting the fact that he wanted dogs but now she can’t get cats? It wasn’t as if she sprung this out of nowhere and he knew what he was getting into when the relationship started. And also the fact that he actually sounded relieved when the cat passed away is disgusting to me.

As you can probably guess Most people were on her side.

People usually do prefer animals over other humans.

I do agree with this particular comment.

She gave him an out in the start.

It is his fault for staying with her.

If he disliked cats that much, he should have never gotten serious with her.

This relationship isn’t working.

She clearly loves cats.

And she shouldn’t be stopped from getting a cat.

I would be on his side if this was a surprise for him.

But she had talked to him about this before.

So he should have seen this coming.

It is important to her and she shouldn’t have to give it up.

He either needs to change or this relationship needs to end.

I don’t think he will ever want another one.

He doesn’t care about what she wants at all.

She also doesn’t know why he disliked the cat.

I am getting some manipulative vibes from this one.

He needs to accept this.

I can only hope that it turns out well for her.
