Parenting is a very tough and challenging process and it brings with itself massive responsibilities that must be honored with total commitment to the well-being, good health, and happiness of that child. And if you have a child with special needs, then just multiply those responsibilities by ten. As a parent to such a child, you also tend to be a bit more attentive, care extra, and stay proactive just to make sure no problems arise. So please, become a parent when you know you are ready to take on the new chapter of life.

Being overprotective as a parent is not a bad approach at all, in fact, this is the best approach. I know, people have a lot of opinions about this approach and many say it kills the child’s confidence. This difference of opinion often results in arguments among parents.

Today’s story touches upon a similar topic as a mother locks her 4-year-old’s room just so her friends’ and relatives’ kids don’t trash his room and mess up his favorite toys. Honestly speaking, there is no question of being wrong here. I don’t know why OP felt the need to ask if she was wrong or not. Let me tell you wide and clear, you are NTA.

Those little creatures that show up at your house and break all of your autistic child’s favorite toys are evil, they were probably brought up by the devil for being this monstrous. I have never seen a kid find enjoyment in breaking toys, it is always the other way around. This tells me how great parents are those women. The real AHs in this story are the sister and the best friend. They really need to teach their children how to behave when at other people’s houses.
