The Swedish puppet play starring bonking Barbies and explicit sex scenes is taking the stage by storm, blending Jackie Collins' raunchy novel with miniature dollhouse sets. This experimental production by Malmö Dockteater brings The World Is Full of Married Men to life with reconstructed Barbie and Ken dolls, complete with tiny plastic penises and pubic hair, as the audience secretly becomes horny.
What Is the Bonking Barbies Puppet Show?
Director Erik Holmström dreamed of a show where viewers sit together and secretly feel aroused, and this production delivers exactly that. The show features 14 dollhouses, two puppeteers who also perform as lifesize versions of their dolls, and a videographer livestreaming the miniature action onto a large screen. Nothing is hidden, from the explicit sex scenes to the full bush on a headless Barbie with a tiny hole drilled in her crotch.

Jackie Collins' Influence on the Production
The novel The World Is Full of Married Men was banned in several countries in 1968 for its graphic content. Holmström says, "If Jackie is telling us to do that, we do that." The production merges theatre, film, and sexually active puppets to honor Collins' legacy. After performances in Malmö and Stockholm, the show is coming to the Yard theatre in east London, performed in Swedish with English subtitles.
