On this occasion we will teach you how to make a small concrete lamp in a practical and simple way with these steps that we leave you.
A concrete lamp can be easily made with very simple tools and materials.
Of course, there are some steps that must be taken into account to achieve good results.
Exactly these steps I would like to show in a short video. I would love for you to share your experience of making the concrete lamp with me.
Step 1: Video and Download template
For precise work, I have prepared for you a drawing as a PDF file containing the measurements I used. The drawing can be downloaded here for free.
Step 2: Measurements

First you will need a wooden board 14 cm wide and 80 cm long. From this board you must cut five pieces with the following dimensions:
- 4 Pieces 14x16cm
- 1 Piece 14x14cm
Therefore, you can use any electric saw or a hand saw.
Step 3: Assemble

After you have cut all the pieces, drill holes in each position where you will attach the screws. Don't forget to drill a hole for the wire in any side piece. Now screw all the wooden pieces together to a box. All internal joints of the assembled box must be sealed with silicone so that water cannot escape.
Step 4: Plinth

Stick the lamp socket onto a piece of double-sided tape and neatly trim the tape off. Now remove the cover paper from the other side and glue the socket centered at the bottom inside the box.
Tip: Pre-mark the position of the lamp holder. It will be important to position the baseboard correctly the first time so that the tape adheres better.
Step 5: Wire

I would recommend using a piece of pipe to route the wire through the wood hole. With this, firstly, the textile wire will be protected and, secondly, water will not escape later. Finally, cover all places on the lamp with waterproof tape where water can pass through. This will be necessary to keep the socket clean and dry from the inside.
Step 6: Concrete

Now it gets exciting! You need approximately 6kg of ready concrete mix. Depending on what concrete you are using, pay attention to the correct volume of water and the manufacturer's notice.
Step 7: Fill the Concrete

When the concrete is mixed, fill it into the box slowly. Tap and shake the box frequently while filling the concrete to avoid air inclusions.
Step 8: Drying

Only after 48 hours can the box be carefully disassembled.
Step 9: Connect the cable

Now you just need to connect the cable and your concrete lamp is ready.
Attention: If you are not well informed about electricity, you must call a specialist to connect the electric cable.
Step 10: Finished project

Greetings!
