Today learn how to how to install a false ceiling in the hall of our home in an easy way and show off that part of the home incredible.
From a practical point of view, a high ceiling can be an inconvenience: we will spend more on heating to warm the house and on material to cover the walls.
Lowering the roof can help solve these problems. And this is going to be, precisely, the topic we will deal with in this section.
To carry out this work we will use some pine wood slats with which we will make the crossbars of the framework, which will serve to place the tongued and grooved slats with which we will make the false ceiling.
These slats are made of recycled material covered with white plastic.

Materials:
- Tongue and groove frieze slats
- 30 x 45 mm pine slats
- Frieze staples
- Mounting adhesive
- Corner pieces
- 6 mm diameter dowels
- 4 x 50 mm lag bolts
- 14 mm staples
Tools
- Drill
- 6 mm diameter concrete drill bit
- 6 mm diameter wood drill bit
- Electric stapler
- Jigsaw
- Wood blade
- Rib saw
- V miter box
Learn how to install a false ceiling step by step:
Step #1
The first thing we will have to do isto build the wooden frame that will support the slats and which, in our case, has the shape you see in the photo.
Around the entire perimeter of the room and at the desired height, we will place some slats that we will attach to the wall with plugs and screws.
Then we will put some crossbars in the center, leaving a separation of about 50 cm between them.
So that some pieces do not assemble on top of others, we will make some half-wood joints.

Step #2
Now we are going to make the recesses in the pieces of wood to be able to join them halfway.
With the jigsaw without pendulum movement and a special blade for straight cuts we make the boxes, which will have the width of the piece that is fitted.

Step #3
We will also have to make someholes in the battens that will help us fix them to the wall:
We place the slats on the table, on a martyr so as not to damage the wood, and drill the holes with the drill and a wood drill bit of the same diameter as the plugs we are going to use.

Step #4
With the help of a ruler or a well-leveled ruler, we mark a line around the entire perimeter of the room, which will serve as a reference for placing the slats.

Step #5
We present the slats on the marked line and, through the guide holes, we drill other holes in the wall.
We will carry out this work with the screwdriver in the hammer position and a concrete drill bit.

Step #6
We insert the lag screws with quick-insertion plugs with the hammer and anchor them.
We will repeat the same operation until we place the pieces around the entire perimeter of the room.

Step #7
Next, we place the transverse pieces, which in our case are two and are joined with adhesive and halfway between the wood.
In the same way, we place the rest of the battens.

Step #8
To reinforce the structure we placed some braces, some pieces of wood that we will place at the joints to the ceiling.
These pieces are alsoWe will place it with mounting adhesive.

Step #9
Once the wooden structure or frame has been placed, we can begin to put the tongue-and-groove slats.
We place the starting staples in the batten structure and secure them with the stapler and staples.

Step #10
We take the measurement of the first slat, taking into account that we will have to leave a few millimeters of slack at the ends, since the wood has expansion.
In the cutting tasks we will use the jigsawand a wood blade.
We will repeat the same operation with the rest of the slats.

Step #11
Little by little, we are placing the rest of the tongue-and-groove slats. We will use mounting adhesive and continuation staples. The size of the last slat that we place must adapt to the gap we have left.

Step #12
To finish the work we are going to place the decorative moldings with which we will also hide the clearance gap that we have left at the ends of the slats. We cut the moldings to the size we need with a V-shaped miter box and a rib saw.

Step #13
We finish by putting the moldings in position with mounting adhesive.
